The Parish Church of Sarum St. Martin - Weekly Intercessions

Sarum St Martin

Let us ask our Heavenly Father for the courage to respond as did the saints to His calling as we make our prayers of intercession

Father, grant the courage of the saints to your Church that she may never be afraid to live according to your laws in the Holy Spirit.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, grant to all who have the governance of the nations the moral courage in Christ to always seek after and work for the true good of all.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, grant to your people in this Church of St. Martin that same courage and confidence in Christ that our patron knew and showed, that we, like him, may fearlessly proclaim the Holy Gospel.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, grant to all who are sickness healing and wholeness, especially to Nona Hale, Sarah Tompkins, Jayne Torvill, Aly Goodman,  Anne Hatcher, Dianne Tarran, Colin Harding, Christine Pougher & Jane Wren.  To those who are housebound assure them of their companionship in the Church, especially Eileen Hornby,  Ruby Cutler, Betty Knapp, Sadie Robertson, Denys Wilson, Ruth Hoare and all who receive the Holy Sacrament in the Nursing Homes of our Parish.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, grant to all who have died that place in heaven prepared for them by your Son.  We pray for John Bradley & John Kirkham, Bp, who have recently died, together with John Blasdale Holmes, Doreen White, William Brown, Alice Talbot Ponsonby, Elsie Spencer, Alexandra Perry & Joy Whyte, whose Years Minds fall this week.
Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord; and let light perpetual fall upon them

May all of our prayers be added to the constant intercession of the Saints that your will be done on earth that your Kingdom may come.
May our Lady Mary pray for us as we greet her,
Hail Mary  full of grace the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary. Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

Glory of God;
Make your Church shine with your Glory in her worship in the Liturgy, that your faithful people may shine out in the world and the transformed and glorious people of God.
Lord, hear us

Light of Light;
Make your light which knows no darkness and no dimming shine in the darl places of this world that evil and wickedness may be driven out of the lives of all humankind.
Lord, hear us
True God of True God:
Make the lives of your people in this Church alight with your Glory, that the Good News of Christ may be seen in this place that all may come to worship you in truth.
Lord, hear us

Merciful God of Merciful God;
Bring healing and wholeness to Nona Hale, Sarah Tompkins, Jayne Torvill, Aly Goodman,  Anne Hatcher, Dianne Tarran, Colin Harding, Christine Pougher, Jane Wren. And assure  Eileen Hornby,  Ruby Cutler, Betty Knapp, Sadie Robertson, Denys Wilson, Ruth Hoare and all who receive the Holy Sacrament in the Nursing Homes of our Parish of their companionship in the Church.

Redeeming and Most Merciful Father;
May Thelma Venton & John Bradley who have recently died, and Bernard Briggs, pr Margaret Briggs, Dorcas Adams, Queenie Daley & William Coleman, whose years minds fall this week enjoy for ever the Glory that is your in heaven.
Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon them

As the saints bathe in your Glory in heaven may they pray for us on earth as we continue on our Pilgrim Way.
May St. Martin of Tours strengthen us in our journey to keep faith.
May the maternal prayers of our Lady Mary ever show us Her Son.
Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee, Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus
Holy Mary. Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Creator Father, give the Church the vision to see your loving kindness and generosity in everything that surrounds her, that she may serve you in using your good gifts for all humankind.
Lord, in your mercy

Creator God, give grace and strength to all humankind that we may work where we find ourselves for the good of all.  May we never abuse the good gifts that you give, but rather praise you in our use of them.
Lord, in your mercy

Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, may we in this Church so use the good things of the harvest that we serve the needs of this City.  Bless the work of Alabaré in relieving the hunger of those who lack food and in giving shelter to those without housing.
Lord. in your mercy

Loving father, grant to Nona Hale, Sarah Tompkins, Jayne Torvill, Aly Goodman, John Bradley, Anne Hatcher, Dianne Tarran, Colin Harding, Christine Pougher & Jane Wren who continue in sickness, healing and wholeness, and to Eileen Hornby,  Ruby Cutler, Betty Knapp, Sadie Robertson, Denys Wilson, Ruth Hoare and all who receive the Holy Sacrament in the Nursing Homes of our Parish.
Companionship in your Church.
Lord, in your mercy

Redeeming Father, grant to all who have died their share at the banquet of the table in heaven prepared for them; we pray for Thelma Venton who has recently died and Peter Price, Marjorie Neill, Margaret Lumb, Frances Mackenzie, Gordon Glynn & Harold Cobham whose Years’ Minds fall this week.
Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord
And let light perpetual fall upon them

As we celebrate the Harvest so may we be blessed in the prayers of the saints, and aided on our pilgrimage by the intercession of St. Martin of Tours.

As Our Lady Mary in her earthly life knew the value of food as she prepared meals for St. Joseph and her Son, so may she by her prayers now in heaven nourish us with the Saviour of all humankind.  We give her honour and pray:
Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with you, Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and at the Hour of our death. Amen

We turn to Our Father in prayers of Intercession, confident that He will hear us.

Father, renew in your Church the Spirit of love and understanding of your holy will, that in things she may know and do what you would have her do.
Lord, hear us

Father, grant to those who govern in our land and union that Spirit of courage that will enable them to work for the common good of all.
Lord, hear us

Father, reaffirm a right spirit within this Church and congregation of St. Martin that we may be seen and known as those who act and love as does your Son.
Lord, hear us

Father, restore health and wholeness to all who continue in sickness, especially Nona Hale, Sarah Tompkins,  Jayne Torvill, Aly Goodman, John Bradley,  Anne Hatcher, Dianne Tarran, Colin Harding, Christine Pougher and let the housebound, especially Eileen Hornby,  Ruby Cutler, Betty Knapp, Sadie Robertson, Denys Wilson, Ruth Hoare and all who receive the Holy Sacrament in the Nursing Homes of our Parish.
Know your companionship as we serve them.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, reawaken to the new life of heaven all who have died, especially Luke Musselwhite together with Phyllis Hunt, Margery Bodger, Simon Howarth and Evelyn James that they may know your life in theirs.
Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord, And let light perpetual shine upon them
May our humble prayers always be aided by the saints in glory.
May St. Martin of Tours keep us ever in his intercession.
And may Our Lady Mary pray for her children.  We greet her as we say.

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and in the hour of our death.

Amen

Father, we pray for your Holy Church, that you keep her fast to the faith of the apostles that in Christ Jesus you show us the way to true life and living here on earth as it is in heaven.
Lord, hear our prayer

Father, we pray that those who have the governance of the nations may exercise their responsibilities in truth and honesty that the commonweal may be served and all peoples may be honoured.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, we pray for our continuing life here at  St. Martin’s that we may continue in the truth of the Faith to your honour and glory and our salvation that the Gospel may always be proclaimed.
Lord, in your mercy

Father, we pray for all who are sick that they may be healed; for Nona Hale, Sarah Tompkins,  Jayne Torvill, Aly Goodman, John Bradley, Anne Hatcher & Dianne Tarran.  We pray for the housebound that they may know the companionship of the Church; for Eileen Hornby,  Ruby Cutler, Betty Knapp, Sadie Robertson, Denys Wilson, Ruth Hoare and all who receive the Holy Sacrament in the Nursing Homes of our Parish.

We pray our prayers of Intercession to the Father, in the name of the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

O Glorious Trinity we pray that, following the example of the BVM in her lowliness, your Church may always follow her instruction, ‘Whatever he tells you to do, do it.’
Lord, hear us

O Glorious Trinity we pray that, the humility that is seen in the BVM, who brought forth into the world your only begotten Son, may become the guidance of all who govern the nations that your will may be done in our world.
Lord, hear us

O Glorious Trinity we pray that, your people in this your Church of Sarum St. Martin may show in our lives the true humility of the BVM, accepting your Word as truth and so following our vocation as Christians.
Lord, hear us

O Glorious Trinity we pray that those whom now we name in their illnesses may receive your healing, Nona Hale, Sarah Tompkins, Jayne Torvill,  Aly Goodman, John Bradley, Anne Hatcher & Dianne Tarran,  Eileen Hornby,  Ruby Cutler, Betty Knapp, Sadie Robertson, Denys Wilson, Ruth Hoare and all who receive the Holy Sacrament in the Nursing Homes of our Parish, and that may know their place in your Church.

O Glorious Trinity we pray that the life of heaven that is now enjoyed by the BVM in the completeness of her being may be granted to those who have died, amongst them David Edward Woods pr, Eddie Chapman, Michael Moxon pr who have recently died as well as David Pottré, Roy Wren, Olive Cooley, Violet Farmer & William Mercer who years’ minds fall this week.
Rest Eternal grant unto them O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them.

O Glorious Trinity we join our worship with angels & archangels, with cherubim & seraphim and we rejoice in the companionship of the saints in heaven and give thanks for their prayers for us, especially those of St. Martin of Tours.

On this Solemnity of the Assumption of the BVM we join the courts of heaven in giving thanks to you that she was found faithful and so gave us Your Son and acclaim her thus as we use the words of the archangel Gabriel and her kinswoman Elizabeth as we say:
Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.  Amen

In faith we turn to Our Heavenly Father and make prayers of intercession

Father, we pray for your Church:
guard and keep her in the faith of the Gospel that she may look forward in confidence to the Second Coming of your Son, fed by His Sacramental Body & Blood which alone brings her life.
Lord, hear us

Father we pray for the peoples of the world:
move the hearts and minds and consciences of all humanity to look for the image of your Son in all that the injustices that disfigure so much of our lives may be overcome.

Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord.
And let light perpetual shine upon them

We know you to be a living and loving God in Christ: grant that these prayers which we have made may be effectual in the lives of all for whom we have prayed.  Hear the prayers of St. Martin of Tours for his people here.  Let us always feel the effects of the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to whom, with the whole Church on earth and in heaven, we give honour as we say.

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with you.
Blesséd are you amongst women and blesséd is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

Let us ask Our Heavenly Father for the needs of the Church and the World in prayers of Intercession

Father, keep your holy Church in true worship of you, the One, True and Living God, that she may always show your love in Christ to all women and men in all their circumstances.

Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord.
And let light perpetual shine upon them.

May these prayers of intercession be heard before your Throne of Grace aided as they are by the prayers of the saints upon whose constant intercession before your presence we rely upon.  May we continue to know the loving prayers of St. Martin of Tours for us.  And may all who love you in Christ know the prayers of Mary His mother and ours as we journey towards you.  With all Christians we greet her in the words of the Archangel and Elizabeth as we say,

Hail Mary, full of grace

A PRAYER FOR OUR PARISH

Almighty God, you have made us members of Christ and of his Church in this parish. May we as a congregation reach upwards to your throne in worship and adoration: inwards to one another in understanding and fellowship; and outwards to the world in evangelism and social compassion. Make us like a city set on a hill whose light cannot be hidden, so that men and women may find Christ as the Light of the World, and his Church as the family of the redeemed, and eternal life as the gift of God, through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.
